Hi, I'm Ofiong Okon. I am a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and HIV Specialist dedicated to empowering clients to reach optimal health and wellness by sharing knowledge about lifestyle and preventive medicine resources. I received my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Seattle University and New York University, respectively. Over the last 10 years, I have passionately provided care for underserved populations in hopes of reducing health disparities within marginalized communities. I have worked on mobile health vans and in various clinics across New York City, providing individualized care for persons with acute and chronic conditions. In 2019, I was featured in Business Insider magazine for my work offering PrEP/PEP to underserved communities and advocating for access to equitable and quality healthcare services. At LaSante Health Center in Brooklyn, New York, I serve as the Director of the HIV Program, where I am committed to creating a safe space for all individuals seeking HIV prevention and treatment services. More recently, I obtained a second master’s degree as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from SUNY Polytechnic Institute. When I am not helping improve the wellness of others, I enjoy long-distance running and hiking.
