Hi, I'm Myrka! I graduated from UCLA in 2025 with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. As an undergraduate, I participated in both research and community service. As a research assistant for the UCLA Anxiety and Depression Research Center and the Culture and Anxiety Lab for Mental Health Advances, I contributed to research in areas such as public speaking anxiety, depression, anxiety, and anhedonia, while also working as a Spanish translator. As a UCLA PROPS Scholar in the Computational Social Neuroscience Lab, I completed independent research examining social hierarchies and attention in shared living communities. Furthermore, as a caseworker for the UCLA Mobile Clinic Project, I conducted intake assessments for the unhoused community. As a member of the health education committee, I also created harm reduction resources and collaborated with other organizations to deliver the best possible care for our clients. Additionally, as a member of the Psi Chi International Honors Society, I participated in outreach events at local food banks and helped create newsletters for my fellow peers. Before joining Amae, I worked as a school-based behavior therapist, addressing behaviors in young children with ASD. My future goal is entering a PhD program in clinical psychology to work with underserved communities and Spanish-speaking populations. In my free time I enjoy playing tennis, watching movies, and cooking.
