Hi, I’m Monica Slubicki, MD. I am a board-certified psychiatrist with over 15 years of experience across inpatient and outpatient settings, with a focus on serious mental illness and recovery. I also have a strong interest in trauma and its impact on mental health. I have worked in the VA healthcare system, community mental health, and academic-affiliated settings, with experience in patient care, program development, and clinical education. My approach is grounded in evidence-based treatment and a belief that mental health care should be as comprehensive and rigorous as any other area of medicine. I focus on supporting patients and families as they navigate complex mental health systems. I believe good care starts with relating to each other as human beings. Both my professional and personal experiences have shaped my commitment to this work, including having people close to me affected by serious mental illness. I also believe in the importance of laughter and its role in connection and resilience. Outside work, I enjoy birdwatching in my yard, theater and music, comedy, dancing, and sushi.
