Hi, I’m Milena! I am a UCLA graduate with a B.A. in World Arts and Cultures, where I specialized in using art as a tool for healing, education, and social change. My passion for mental health began when I served as a Mental Health Peer Educator at the College of San Mateo. In this role, I completed extensive training to lead conversations around key mental health topics, including anxiety, depression, suicide prevention, and healthy relationships. Through these experiences, along with my background in retail, I discovered a deep passion for supporting and empowering Spanish-speaking communities by offering high-quality care and hospitality to build trust, safety, and rapport. In the future, my goal is to become an art therapist serving low-income families and supporting immigrants, continuing to leverage creative expression as a vital pathway for healing. Outside of work, I love combining art with movement. Having grown up as a ballet dancer, I still take dance classes that specialize in somatic movement, a practice I hope to use with my career goals. I’m also a big movie fan, holding a minor in Film & TV with hands-on experience in media production, and I love writing Letterboxd reviews after trips to the theater with loved ones. In my downtime, you can usually find me grabbing a matcha, eating Korean BBQ, or working out.
