LinkedIn

Hi, I'm Maya Graves, a psychiatrist who takes a whole-person approach to mental healthcare. I believe treatment should support not only symptom relief, but also help people regain their daily functioning, confidence, and ability to engage in the relationships, work, and activities that matter most to them. My clinical interests include bipolar spectrum disorders, peripartum mental health, first-episode psychosis, and interventional and metabolic psychiatry. I'm particularly passionate about addressing the metabolic and weight-related side effects that can accompany psychiatric medications. When appropriate, I incorporate evidence-based strategies to help patients manage these challenges so they can continue making progress in their recovery without compromising their overall health. Before pursuing medicine, I earned a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from the Columbia University Institute of Human Nutrition. I went on to receive my MD from New York University School of Medicine and am completing my psychiatry residency at Weill Cornell Medicine/NewYork-Presbyterian. Outside of work, I enjoy creating with my hands through crocheting, knitting, embroidery, and flower pressing. I live in Brooklyn with my husband and our silly six-year-old Maltipoo.
