Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Hi! My name is Kay, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston. As an advanced practice registered nurse, I have specialized education and training in assessing, diagnosing, and treating psychiatric disorders. My clinical expertise includes prescribing psychotropic medications and utilizing therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I bring nearly a decade of experience working in community mental health, where I have had the privilege of caring for individuals with severe mental illnesses, including schizophrenia spectrum and other psychotic disorders, bipolar disorder, co-occurring substance use disorders, and a range of other psychiatric conditions. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to providing compassionate, person-centered care. My approach to treatment is evidence-based, holistic, and collaborative. I believe in partnering with patients to develop individualized treatment plans that align with their goals, values, and strengths. Working with individuals living with severe mental illness is especially meaningful to me, and I find supporting their recovery and overall well-being to be the most rewarding aspect of my work. Outside of Amae Health, you can often find me under the sea pursuing my childhood dream of being a mermaid through SCUBA diving.
