Certifed Peer Support Specialist

LinkedIn

Hi, I’m Corey Inman, NCPSS (North Carolina Peer Support Specialist). I have been a certified peer support specialist for the past three years, with a passion for helping individuals navigate mental health challenges and connect with the support and resources they need. My professional experience includes working with RHA on the Justice Services Team at the Buncombe County Courthouse, where I served on the Jail Diversion Team. In this role, I supported individuals experiencing mental health and substance use challenges while connecting them with alternatives to incarceration and community-based resources. Prior to that, I worked as a Behavioral Technician at The Willows at Red Oak, gaining experience in a behavioral health setting. I believe serving others is a tremendous calling. Helping people who struggle with mental illness is more than a career to me—it is something I feel called to do. I strive to meet people where they are with compassion, understanding, dignity, and without judgment. In addition to my NCPSS certification, I hold a Wilderness First Responder certification and have a strong interest in the outdoors. I enjoy hiking and teaching primitive survival skills, and I see time in nature as a powerful form of ecotherapy and an opportunity to help people reconnect with themselves and their strengths. I am also a member of Gnardawgs, a harm reduction group based in Asheville. Through my professional work and community involvement, I strive to be a source of encouragement and support while helping others find pathways toward healing, recovery, and a more meaningful life.
