Hi, I’m Brenna Deters, LCMHCA, LCASA. I have a Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lynn University. In the state of North Carolina, I am a licensed clinical mental health counseling associate and a licensed clinical addiction specialist associate. I tend to work with clients with depression, anxiety, substance use, trauma/PTSD, and psychotic disorders. My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, active listening, and creating a safe space for individuals to explore their feelings without judgment. I practice Integrative Therapy, where I pull techniques and concepts from different theories and sources in order to provide my clients with the therapy they need. I personally use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy the most, but I am willing to use other ideas and a variety of techniques to figure out what works best for you. I have previously worked at a residential treatment facility in South Florida that provided care for both mental health and substance use disorders. Additionally, I have experience working at a community-based outpatient clinic in North Carolina, where I continued to treat individuals with both mental health and substance use challenges. I have always felt a strong calling to help those in need, especially when it came to emotional and psychological well-being. With a deep-rooted passion for helping others, I believe in the power of human connection and the transformative impact of mental health care. The joy of seeing clients grow stronger, more self-aware, and empowered to face life's difficulties keeps me motivated and committed to this essential work. In my free time, I enjoy being creative and doing anything related to arts and crafts, which serves as a form of relaxation and creative expression. I also enjoy practicing yoga and meditation and have found it to be a grounding practice that fosters both mental and physical balance. If I am not doing these activities, then you can probably find me reading a good book!
