Hi, I’m Bianca Punzalan. I graduated from UC Berkeley with a B.S. in Molecular Environmental Biology. My experiences sit at the intersection of patient care, public health, and community-centered support. For two years, I volunteered at Highland Hospital, connecting patients from the Bay Area’s safety-net population to essential resources like food, housing, and insurance. Through this work, I supported individuals navigating complex medical and social challenges. At Berkeley, I facilitated a student-led course exploring skin health, identity, and self-care. Drawing from my local activism and a TEDx talk on colorism, I created space for conversations around culture, confidence, and well-being. In addition, I contributed to microbiology research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and have published work with the UC Berkeley School of Public Health. I am especially interested in mental health and whole-person care. My approach is grounded in curiosity and cultural humility. I strive to build trust, listen deeply, and support each individual with empathy and respect. Outside of work, I enjoy creating nail art, coaching volleyball, and spending time with my daughter - my cat.
