Nicholas Hastings

Nicholas Hastings (he/him) is a Community Liaison at Amae Health in NYC. He supports members and their families as they transition into Amae’s integrated outpatient care, while building and strengthening partnerships with health systems and community-based organizations across the city. Nicholas holds an MD from Duke University School of Medicine and a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His career spans a decade of community health, HIV equity work, and clinical research focused on health disparities impacting the LGBTQ+ community. His background includes a Princeton in Africa Fellowship in Botswana, CDC and NIH-funded research at FHI 360, and a research fellowship at NYU Langone where his doctoral thesis examined urban migration as a predictor of disrupted HIV care engagement and poor mental health outcomes among young queer communities of color in NYC. His scholarly work has been presented nationally, with a manuscript currently under review for publication. Nicholas is passionate about advancing health equity for historically underserved populations and bringing high-quality, compassionate care to the communities that need it most.
