Hi, I’m Mariya Borodyanskaya, an Adult, Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist and Clinical Assistant Professor at Stanford University. My areas of expertise include supporting individuals experiencing psychosis, mood and anxiety disorders, developmental disorders, and those navigating suicidal thoughts. I completed my undergraduate education at the University of California, Davis, and obtained my medical degree from Touro University- California. I went on to complete my adult psychiatry residency and child & adolescent psychiatry fellowship at University Hospitals–Case Medical Center in Ohio. Since 2019, I have been part of the Stanford University community and currently work with the dedicated team at the INSPIRE clinic. Throughout my career, I have worked within a wide range of clinical settings, including adolescent and adult psychiatric inpatient units, specialty clinics focused on psychosis, autism, and developmental disorders, as well as within the juvenile justice system. In addition to my clinical work, I am passionate about medical education and mentorship, and I have had the privilege of teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows. I believe that healing begins when people feel genuinely seen, understood, and supported. My approach centers on helping individuals find meaning and purpose in their lives, while integrating families and/or other support systems into the treatment process to optimize long-term success. Outside of work, I find joy in laughter and connection—whether that’s through watching stand-up comedy, singing and dancing, or spending time at arcades and theme parks with my family. I also enjoy peaceful walks by the water and meaningful conversations with friends as ways to reflect and recharge.
