Hi, I’m Kamran Ostrum. I recently earned my B.S. in Society and Environment (Sustainable Business and Policy) from UC Berkeley, where I also pursued a certificate in Entrepreneurship and Technology. My academic background spans the fields of sociology, public policy, and sustainability, but I also have a deep passion for exploring the intersection of mental health, behavioral science, and innovative technologies. At UC Berkeley’s Risk Resilience Research Lab, I worked with at-risk adolescents, conducting field research to evaluate the impact of video game-based interventions on emotional regulation and long-term behavioral outcomes. I have also contributed to past projects focusing on building scalable, AI-driven mental health platforms and resources for college students, interviewing therapists, psychiatrists, university administrators, and entrepreneurs in the mental health sphere to identify impactful, evidence-based mental health solutions for students. I’m driven by a commitment to expanding high-quality care for individuals with mental illness through thoughtful design and innovation that can help bridge the gaps in our current health systems. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, skiing, reading, and spending time with my friends and family.
