Hi, I’m Grazia Rutherford-Swan. I’m currently completing my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Hunter College, following a career transition from the book publishing world. Before joining Amae, I spent a year and a half interning in harm reduction, where I focused on supporting individuals navigating substance use, housing instability, overcriminalization, and co-occurring mental health conditions. This work reaffirmed in me a deep commitment to meeting people with compassion, non-judgment, and psychoeducation–especially those who have been overlooked or underserved. I believe healing happens through human connection, understanding, and community care. My goal at Amae is to de-stigmatize and embrace all parts of our members, and to hold space for them wherever they are in their healing process. Outside of my work, I’m a published writer, vintage shopper, and member of a run club with my friends, the “Autonomous Girls Run Club.”
