Hi! I’m Christine Lau, MD. I earned my medical degree from the CUNY School of Medicine and completed my psychiatry residency at Metropolitan Hospital Center, both in New York City. Early in my medical education, I developed a deep understanding of the importance of health equity, which fostered my commitment to serving diverse and underserved populations. I integrate this into my clinical practice, research, and advocacy. My clinical experience has spanned across emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings with a focus on treating serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and forensic populations. My philosophy is to care for the whole person by taking a holistic approach and creating individualized treatment through open, collaborative partnership. I am excited to carry out this philosophy as a psychiatrist here at Amae Health!
